Congratulations on 9 years Lukas Chorvatovič!

History with the company:
I started working at Ortivus (formerly AVeL-Tech ) in January 2000. When I was finishing my last year of college, I was offered a contract to start working with AVeL-Tech and have been here ever since. You can say this has been my ‘only job’ if you disregard my previous work experience as a janitor and box assembler, which was a career path I did not choose to pursue.

Current position:
My current position is Team Lead of the Fusion ePCR project.

Most memorable event since you’ve been with the company::
I’ve been here for such a long time that there are too much memorable moments to list. However, if I consider the latest one, it would be our Go-Kart outing. There are small ‘friendly’ rivalries here at the office for some of these things, and beating out my fiercest competitor and then having to listen to reasons as to why he should have won for months to come always brightened my days.

Most enjoyable part of your job:
What I find great at Ortivus is that we always adopt, or at least try, the latest technologies available. We are not scared of trying new things, even if it is something unknown to us. I’ve also loved being part of a full cycle in the development of an application. From the beginning of the project where the first designs were tough, and the first line of code was written, to it being delivered in the hands of customers. Even though I like what I do, the most important part is the environment you work within and the people you work with. The atmosphere here is unlike any other with people being very friendly, funny and professional. We often have activities after work, such as poker nights and hockey, which help build team spirit.
