Support Hot Topics

Beth Hollar, Support ServicesContinuing Education, by Beth Hollar

At Ortivus, we pride ourselves in the tools we have available on our website and within Help to assist in everyday questions and issues that arise. Some items I would like to highlight are the Knowledge Library, Recorded Classes, and Recorded Webinars available on our Website.

The Knowledge Library has a plethora of documentation available ranging from FAQ’s to simple processes and user guides. Whether you are looking for some guidance on a Daily Work Process or Sweet-Field Data Mapping Quick Facts, the Knowledge Library probably has it.

The Recorded Classes center contains instructional videos for Sweet-CAD, Sweet-Billing and Sweet-Field Data. Later this year, it will also have videos for Fusion ePCR. Many how-to questions can be answered within the Recorded Classes center.

The Recorded Webinar Center has many of the Webinars we have done for special topics and with experts in the EMS industry. Some of the most popular are Sweet-Billing: Schedules and Events, Sweet-CAD Reports: Basic Operations and Advanced Skills, and ICD10 Codes.

Whether you are new to the use of Ortivus products or would like a refresher on product features, the Knowledge Library, Recorded Classes, and Recorded Webinars may be your answer. Check them out on our website in the My Account section.

As a reminder, we do have Regional User Groups, onsite training, and remote training also available. For more information regarding these, you can contact your Account Manager in Sales.

Sharon Frauenkron, Support ServicesWe are excited about the move from
Sweet-
Field Data to the New Fusion ePCR.
To make the transition easier for our customers we have created a help document that will address the different terminology between the two applications

Dictionary of Fusion ePCR Terms

Validation - (“Required Fields’ in Sweet-Field Data) Validation is automatically run when the user attempts to mark a response complete. Validation goes one step further than the required fields from Field data and is interactive with the user in guiding the user to the field that requires attention. This helps the user quickly finish an accurate and complete ePCR.

Response - (Call in Sweet-Field Data) An EMS incident that requires attention by EMS personnel.

Disposition - (Patient in Sweet-Field Data) A response that also included information for a patient. Multiple patients can be attached to a response, but each patient can have his/her own disposition. Examples include one response, such as an MVA, where two patients were on scene, one patient was treated and transported and the second patient refused. Fusion ePCR now allows the user to have a single Response, with two Patient Encounters.

Markup - (Sweet-Field Data Run Types) Response and Disposition markups are maintained in Fusion Config Tool in the Decision Support section. Users can remove fields from a Markup, set defaults, or set field requirements.

Provider Impressions - In Sweet-Field Data, provider impressions were a subset of Reason codes. In Fusion ePCR, provider impressions are now part of decision support, which helps the user narrow down the appropriate provider impression using data on the Response. This creates fewer menu options in the Provider Impressions drop-down menu for the user to choose from when entering provider impressions, resulting in quicker data entry!

Checklist - The system administrator can create and attach a Checklist of questions for the caregiver to prompt themselves during the treatment of the patient.

Treatment Protocol - The system administrator can attach treatment protocols and advise medications, procedures and checklists. The treatment protocol is then attached to a provider impression for use in a response.

Attachment Rules - The system administrator can decide what types of files may be attached to a Response or Patient Encounter.

Attachment - Caregivers can attach files to the ePCR, such as photos of the incident or scene. This allows greater detail in accurately documenting the scene conditions.

Custom Fields - (Statistics in Sweet-Field Data) Example - The patient’s glasses taken from the scene and left with the patient in the ER? In Sweet-Field Data, users were limited to the area of the Statistic. With Fusion ePCR, users can create Custom fields in any area of the program.

Employees - (Staff in Sweet-Billing) Employees can have attached Employee Groups that give that Employee access to a program and its features.

Employee Groups - (Security Profiles in Sweet-Billing) This feature allows the System Administrator to limit access for users to areas of the program that the System Administrator does not want that user to access. To login to Fusion ePCR, an Employee needs to have an Employee Group for Fusion ePCR attached to the Employee code in Personnel Management.

Authentication Settings - these are login rules, such as the length of the password and how a product can be authenticated to- such as locally or via Active Directory. For Services using Active Directory, the Active Directory is setup and maintained by local IT people and not by Ortivus.

Decision Support - utilities in the Fusion Config Tool program that can help make good and useful decisions for other areas of the program. Fields for the Response or Disposition can be turned off or on in Markups, made to be required or prompt if missing or information can be defaulted into these fields, making data entry easier for the medic. Example: Provider impressions - indicating that a patient is male, will narrow the list of provider impressions by removing any provider impression that references pregnancy.
